About the McDougall Corridor Walking Tour

Welcome to the McDougall Street Corridor. Support for this project was provided by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). This project is a collaboration of the Centre for Cities at the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor (C4C), the Essex County Black Historical Research Society (ECBHRS), Parallel 42 Systems, the University of Windsor Leddy Library, and the School of Creative Arts (SOCA) at the University of Windsor.

How to take the McDougall Corridor Tour

If you choose to take the tour, please allow yourself between 2.5-3 hours to complete the walking tour all in one visit. You can start the tour by pressing the TAKE TOUR button. You may choose to only do a portion of the tour and come back at a later time. The tour will remember which markers you have already visited and allow you to begin where you left off.

The first stop on the tour is at 454 McDougall - Landrum Hall & Frontier Social Club. From there the map will prompt you to the next stop with an orange marker. You may choose to visit any marker at any time but the loop we have curated will help you visit every stop in an efficient manner. Completed stops are noted with green pins and remaining stops are noted with blue pins. To mark content as completed, press the MARK AS COMPLETED check box on the content page.

Not able to walk the tour? All materials are available at any time, simply click the CONTENT button to watch at your own pace.

For the best experience, please bring along a set of headphones to wear during the tour. With local traffic and general conditions it may be hard to hear otherwise.

Transit Access & Available Parking

Looking for a place to park? Ample parking is available at the corner of McDougall & Wyandotte. Minutes from the tunnel exit and just steps away from the first stop on the walking tour.

Transit users can access the area using the Crosstown 2 bus and get off at McDougall. The neighbourhood is situated just east of the Downtown Windsor BIA and west of the Wyandotte Town Centre BIA.
