North Star: A Portal for Black History in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent was researched, compiled, and written by Willow Key (MA History, University of Windsor 2024). This project was funded by a University of Windsor SE Explore Grant (2023) and overseen by Dr Sarah Glassford, Dr Heidi Jacobs, and Peter Zimmerman of the University of Windsor's Leddy Library and its Archives and Special Collections. Project support also came from Irene Moore Davis (Essex County Black Historical Research Society) and Sue Fader (Archives and Special Collections, Leddy Library). Early research on this portal was conducted by Grant Munroe and graphics were created by Lydia Joy Palmer.
