Regional Organizations and Research Groups
Here are a number of groups and organizations who focus on preserving and promoting Black history in the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent region.

- The OBHS offers numerous educational exhibits, presentations, and tours to the public, focusing on Black history and life in Ontario. Researchers can access a wealth of resources, including private collections.
- Essex County Black Historical Research Society
- The ECBHRS is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history of Black Canadians in Windsor-Essex. Through monthly meetings, the organization facilitates engaging discussions and supports ongoing research endeavors centered on various aspects of Black life and history in the region.
- Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society
- The CKBHS engages with the history and legacy of Black settlement and the Underground Railroad in Chatham-Kent through their research group. Resources and educational materials are available through the Black Mecca Museum.
- Hour-A-Day Study Club
- One of the longest running, non-profit, female-led organizations in Canada, the Hour-A-Day Study Club was established in Windsor, Ontario in 1934 and emphasizes the importance of education, literacy, and community.
- Windsor Mosaic: African Canadian Community
- This site provides a community-driven narrative recounting the history of Windsor’s Black community from its earliest settlement to the present day. Curated largely by Nancy Allen of the North Star Cultural Community Centre, the site offers a comprehensive exploration of the rich heritage and enduring legacy of Windsor's Black community.
